HOW TO STUDY EVERY DAY WITH A STUDY PARTNER
Short answer: set a daily study block you can hit even on a bad day, show proof of what you covered, and have a study partner check it before 11 PM. Long exam preparation is lost on the ordinary days, not the hard ones, and a partner who checks makes the ordinary days count.
Why daily beats intense
Exam prep runs for months. Most people start with 10-hour days, burn out in two weeks, and then swing between guilt and cramming. The students who get through the syllabus usually aren't the ones with the best first week. They're the ones who studied on day 63 when nobody was watching.
That's what a study partner is for: someone who notices day 63.
The setup
- A daily minimum, not a daily maximum. Two focused hours, one chapter, or one full mock section. Pick something you can do on a bad day. Extra is welcome; the minimum is the promise.
- A fixed time block. Same time every day, phone in another room. Deciding when to study is half the battle; remove the decision.
- Proof you can't fake in ten seconds. A photo of today's handwritten notes, a mock test score, a screenshot of a finished lecture, or three lines on what you covered.
- An 11 PM deadline. Proof goes to your partner before 11. After that, the day is gone.
- Rules for misses and sick days. Agree before you start: a missed day costs something small, and a sick day only counts if you say so before the deadline.
Picking a study partner
They don't need to be preparing for the same exam. A friend doing CAT can keep you honest about UPSC; you just both need a daily target. Pick someone reliable over someone close. Your best friend may forgive every missed day, which is kind and bad for your rank.
A message you can send today
"Want to be study partners for the next 30 days? Two hours a day minimum, and we both send a photo of our notes before 11 PM. Miss a day and you buy the other one chai. Sick days count only if you say so before 11. Starting tomorrow?"
Where Accountify fits
Accountify is a free Android app built around this exact routine for two people. Start a custom challenge like "2 hours of study" or the 2 Hours Deep Work template, choose the number of days, and both of you post proof before 11 PM: a photo, a short video or a note. Your partner approves it, and if they forget, it counts. At 11 PM the app settles the day: miss it and your coins go to your partner. Leave days cover exam days and illness.

Common questions
Does my study partner need to prepare for the same exam?
No. You need the same deadline, not the same syllabus.
What counts as proof of studying?
Anything that takes real work: today's notes, a mock score, a finished lecture, a written summary. Agree on it before day one.
How many hours should I study daily?
As many as you can hold every day for months. Start with a minimum you can't fail, and let good days run longer.
