HOW TO DO LEETCODE EVERY DAY
Short answer: one problem a day from a fixed list, a fixed deadline, and a friend who sees your accepted submission every night. Most people don't quit LeetCode because the problems are hard. They quit because every day starts with "what should I do today?" and nobody notices when they skip.
Why the streak keeps breaking
Placement prep usually starts strong: ten problems on a Sunday, a new sheet bookmarked, a plan for the next three months. By the second week the plan is gone. Picking a problem takes longer than solving it, a hard Medium kills the evening, and one missed day turns into a missed week because nobody asked.
None of that is about ability. It's about having too many decisions and no one checking.
The setup that holds
- One problem a day. Easy or Medium. One that you finish beats three you open. Add a second only after two or three weeks without a miss.
- A fixed list, in order. Pick one public list (a topic-wise sheet or a "150 problems" style list) and go top to bottom. No browsing, no choosing.
- A time box. 45 minutes. If you're stuck at 30, read the approach, then write the code yourself without looking. That still counts, and you redo the problem a week later.
- A fixed deadline. Before 11 PM, every day. Late enough for college or work, early enough that you can't push it to tomorrow.
- A friend who checks. Proof is the accepted submission, sent before the deadline. Your friend doesn't need to code; they just need to look.
- A rule for misses. Agree on it before you start: something small, like the one who missed buys chai. And "never miss twice": one miss is life, two in a row is how streaks end.

Where Accountify fits
Accountify is a free Android app for exactly this. Pick the LeetCode Daily challenge with a friend and add your LeetCode username. When you post your proof, the app checks your public LeetCode profile for an accepted submission made today (India time), so your friend can see it's real, and they still have the final say. At 11 PM the app settles the day: miss it and your coins go to your friend. Leave days cover exams and sick days, and if you break a long streak once, a streak repair can bring it back.

Common questions
How many LeetCode problems should I do a day?
One a day that you actually finish beats five on the weekend. Start with one, and only add a second once the habit has held for a few weeks.
What if my friend doesn't do LeetCode?
That's fine. They can pick any habit of their own, like the gym or reading, and you check each other. You don't need the same goal, just the same deadline.
Does a problem I solved with help count?
Agree on it up front. A good rule: it counts if you wrote and submitted the code yourself, even after reading the approach, and you redo it a week later.
