PRIVACY POLICY
Accountify ("we", "us") is a 1v1 accountability app. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and how you can get it deleted.
1. What we collect
Your account
- From Google Sign-In: your name, email address and profile photo.
- The username you use in the app, your time zone, and your LeetCode username if you add one.
What you do in the app
- Your matches and challenges: the task, length, coin stake and results.
- Your daily proof: notes, photos and videos you submit, and when you submitted them.
- Your partner's reviews of your proof (approved or rejected, with their reason), and leave requests with the reason you give.
- Coins, coin transactions, streaks, badges, and trust and consistency stats.
Location (gym challenges only)
- When you check in or out at the gym, we read your GPS position and save it with that day's task so your partner and our server can verify it.
- The gym (and home) location you save lives in a private part of your profile that only you can read.
- We never track your location in the background. You can turn location off in your phone settings; gym check-in then won't work.
Your device
- A push notification token so we can send reminders and match updates.
- Device integrity checks from Google (Firebase App Check) that help block fake app clients.
- When you usually complete tasks, which Pro's Smart Reminders use to time your reminders.
Payments
- Pro subscription: Google Play handles the purchase. We receive your subscription status and a purchase token to confirm it, never your card or bank details.
- Real-money matches (Android only, optional): if you choose a real-money match, we store your UPI ID if you add one, and a record of each settlement (amount, date, status, and a UPI reference number if you enter one). Money moves directly between you and the other user through your own UPI app; we never hold, receive or send money.
2. Why we use it
- To run your account and your matches, and to show your partner your proof.
- To verify tasks: GPS for the gym, LeetCode's public data for LeetCode, partner review for custom tasks, and AI photo checks for Pro users.
- To settle matches every night at 11 PM IST and keep coins, streaks, badges and leaderboards up to date.
- To send reminders and notifications.
- To keep Accountify secure, prevent cheating and abuse, and fix problems.
We don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
3. Who can see it
- Any signed-in Accountify user can see your username, name, profile photo and public stats (streaks, trust score, badges) and find you in search. Turn on Private Mode (Pro) to stay off public leaderboards.
- Your match partner sees the proof you submit in that match, including photos and videos, and your leave requests.
- If you add a UPI ID for real-money matches, it's stored on your profile and other signed-in users can see it. Only add one if you're comfortable with that, and remove it any time in UPI Settings.
4. Service providers

Some of these providers process data outside India, including in the United States. By using Accountify you agree to that transfer. An AI check can approve a task but never takes your coins; only your partner can reject a task.
5. How long we keep it
- Proof photos and videos: deleted automatically 30 days after upload.
- Your account, matches and tasks: kept until you delete your account.
- After you delete your account: your profile, private location, open challenges, tasks and leave requests are deleted and your active matches are cancelled. Records that also belong to another user, such as a past settlement or coin transaction, may remain without your profile attached.
6. Your rights
- Delete: in the app, Profile, then Delete Account. Or email us. See Delete your account.
- Access or correct: edit your profile in the app, or email us for a copy of your data.
- Withdraw permissions: turn off location or notifications in your phone settings at any time.
We handle personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
7. The AI plugin for ChatGPT and Claude
The plugin has no sign-in and can't see your Accountify account. It only uses what you type for it in that conversation (like your goal and the number of days) to suggest and plan a challenge, and it doesn't store your messages. Your conversation itself is handled by ChatGPT or Claude under their own privacy policies.
8. Age limit
Accountify is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a minor is using the app, email us and we'll delete the account.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect, and update the date at the top.
